Environmental Considerations of Euthabag
According to the manufacturer, Euthabag is safe for cremation. Each bag is made from 100% polypropylene (PP) fabric (post-consumer, recycled material), laminated with polyethylene (PE) to be leak-proof, a resin zipper enclosure and resin rosin glue. They do not contain PVC or chlorinated compounds, dioxins, or furans.
It is safe to bury a pet in a Euthabag. The bags are designed to do no harm to the environment. They do not contain any heavy metals or other chemicals that could contaminate the soil. Additionally, a Euthabag will keep a pet’s body contained, while simultaneously allowing decomposition to eliminate body fluids (which may contain chemicals used during euthanasia) before the bag eventually breaks down. Current studies are being conducted on the speed of Euthabag biodegradability.
